Each year, students and staff throughout the Simcoe County District School Board observe Pink Shirt Day.

This is a day that promotes anti-bullying awareness and encourages kindness and inclusivity within schools.

This year, Pink Shirt Day was held on Feb. 25, with the theme ‘Sprinkle Kindness.’

Students and staff were encouraged to wear pink and to participate in a variety of school-based activities focused on inclusiveness, respect, and belonging.

The SCDSB recognizes that all members of the school community have the right to be safe and to feel safe. In the SCDSB, Pink Shirt Day is part of a larger effort to cultivate kindness, address bullying in all forms, and empower students to support one another.

The SCDSB shared the results of a recent School Climate Survey conducted in fall 2025.

In that survey, 84 per cent of students in Grades 4 to 12 participated, indicating positive increases in school safety, belonging, and engagement at the elementary and secondary levels.

The SCDSB says it will continue to work to provide learning opportunities and activities that support the growth of positive school climates, creating a culture of belonging, engagement, and success for all.
