New Civic planned for mass production at Alliston Honda plant

The Alliston Honda plant will soon be very busy at it gears up to start mass production of the new 2022 Honda Civic.

The Alliston plant has produced over nine million cars and light trucks since 1986.

This includes the Civic and Honda CR-V models.

Honda recently released photos of what the new vehicle will look like.

This is the 11th generation of the popular Civic.

In a statement issued by the company, the new Civic is being described as being “Inspired by the timeless design and human-focused values of past Civics, designers and engineers prioritized Honda’s human-centered design philosophy, which maximizes the total environment for the driver and passengers, while minimizing the space needed for mechanical components.

“The goal is to increase the driver’s ability to enjoy the car safely. The result is a sporty new look and an all-new simple and sporty interior that advances essential Civic values of uncluttered design, simple ergonomics, and exceptional visibility.”

Honda has not yet announced specifications for the new Civic, however, it is already getting good reviews from auto enthusiasts and those that monitor the auto industry in North America.

The announcement is good news for the Alliston plant. The facility recently had a shut-down along with several other North American auto makers due to a parts shortage – specifically a shortage of micro-chips.

The new 2022 Civic is expected to make its debut at dealerships this summer.
