An Ontario Trillium Grant provided the Ontario Track3 Adaptive Sports Association with the opportunity to focus on volunteer recruitment and a training initiative aimed at rebuilding its volunteer base in Grey and Bruce Counties.

This included developing outreach materials, attending local events and markets, hosting volunteer information sessions, and enhancing training resources to ensure safe, inclusive, and effective program delivery.

The $49,900 grant came from the provincial Resilient Communities Fund.

“I want to extend my sincere congratulations and thanks to the team at the Ontario Track3 Adaptive Sports Association for their commitment to creating inclusive sporting opportunities for children and youth with disabilities,” said Brian Saunderson, MPP for Simcoe-Grey. “Track3 certainly put this funding to good use, by successfully increasing their volunteer base, which will in turn allow for more opportunities for young people to develop skills and increase their resilience. I am especially grateful to the staff and volunteers, both past and present, whose passion and commitment have continued to change lives and helped to build a stronger, more diverse community.”

The project was instrumental in increasing volunteer engagement and expanding capacity to serve more children and youth with disabilities through adaptive snow sport programming.

“The support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation has been truly transformative for Track3,” said Tracy Collier, executive director of the Ontario Track3 Adaptive Sports Association. “This grant allowed us to rebuild and strengthen our volunteer network in Grey-Bruce, directly impacting the number of children and youth with disabilities we’re able to serve. We’re incredibly proud of this growth and deeply grateful for OTF’s role in helping us build a more inclusive and accessible future on and off the slopes.”

As an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations, OTF invested over $110 million into 1,022 community projects and partnerships over the last year.
