The 2016 MyFM Radiothon, in support of the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation’s “Refurbish a Room Campaign,” took place on Friday, June 10, at Zehrs Markets in Alliston.
The day-long event raised $4,300 for the hospital, which will be used to update patient rooms in the Medical/Surgical Unit.
The day was a fun-filled event, hosted at the front entrance of Zehrs, complete with a community barbecue and a charity Joga class.
“We are extremely grateful for MyFM Radio, Zehrs Markets and our sponsors for championing the importance of a local hospital that serves our community,” said Norm Grove, vice-chair, Stevenson Foundation. “The Refurbish a Room Campaign is about much more then updating the rooms, it is about increasing patient’s comfort, privacy and rest while they recover.”
Don MacNeil, MyFM Radio Personality remarked: “MyFM is extremely proud to support Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation, and as a local station we are committed to doing what we can to help raise awareness of the importance of local healthcare in our community.”
The Refurbish a Room Campaign’s goal is to increase patients’ comfort, privacy and their ability to get some much-needed rest while recovering from surgery or illness.
The campaign focuses on replacing the window blinds, privacy curtains and tracks, bedside tables and beds.
“Imagine what a newly refurbished room will mean to a stroke patient or someone recovering from surgery, and what it will mean to every person receiving quality care and treatment at Stevenson.”
Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation would like to thank all the 2016 MyFM Radiothon sponsors, including: MyFM Radio, Zehrs Markets, PowerStream Inc., Alliston Home Hardware Building Centre, Boston Pizza Alliston, The Hair Gallery Salon & Spa, Trillium Ford Lincoln, and McDonald’s (Alliston and Angus).
