While many people enjoy planting flowers in their home gardens, there are many varieties that grow in the wild and can only be appreciated by searching for them on forested trails.
If you are an amateur botanist and enjoy finding and identifying wild flowers, the Tiffin Centre for Conservation provides a trails map for visitors that shows where you can find some unique species in the woods.
The map shows the layout of trails in the Conservation Area and the location of different species of wild flowers.
Listing 19 varieties of wild flowers, the map has coloured trails you can follow to different locations.
It also includes a larger photo of each flower. You can read about each flower and learn more information by using the map and guide book.
The list includes flowers such as Canada Mayflower, White Trillium, Wild Ginger, Trout Lily, Coltsfoot, Blue Violet, and Black Eyed Susan.
As flowers bloom at different times of the year, you may want to go back a second or third time to see all the flowers in their full glory.
To walk the trails and view the flowers, you can park at the trail head.
Please remember to pay the parking fees as this helps the Conservation Area to maintain the trails and bridges so everyone can continue to enjoy the area.
The Tiffin Conservation Area is located at 8195 8th Line of Essa, in Utopia.
