If you are a business owner or self-employed individual who had to shut down or alter your operations this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may find navigating the 2021 tax season to be little more complicated than usual.

The County of Simcoe, along with several partners, will be hosting a webinar to help those individuals successfully prepare their taxes for this year.

The “Ask an Expert” webinar series will allow business owners and self-employed people to join Tax Advisor Allen Lloyd, consultant and founder of Lloyd Management Services, for a free virtual webinar that will help small businesses prepare to file a tax return.

Mr. Lloyd has ten years of experience as an Outreach Co-ordinator and Resource Officer at the Canadian Revenue Agency and more that 25 years of experience assisting clients with income tax preparation and advocacy.

This session will enable participants to ask important questions about any impact or changes related to the pandemic. It will also enhance their knowledge of CRA filing and reporting requirements.

Topics will include: Requirements for maintaining books and records, how to read and use financial statements, understanding the CRA tax requirements, and where to find useful information on-line.

Participants can submit questions in advance of the webinar when registering or by emailing edo@simcoe.ca.

The webinar will take place on Thursday, March 25, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

You can register for this webinar by visiting askanexpert_2021taxes.eventbrite.ca.

Details for joining the Zoom meeting will be sent in advance.
